ZENITH 260

9 tube chassis 2031

This page is preliminary and the links are not working yet. In time I will be adding content to the links. Thanks for reading!

Ive since found another 260 installed in one of Zenith's most common cabinet in the 1932-35 time period.
In order to accomodate the cabinet, the tone control was removed and the antenna compensation control was moved to a location beneath the tuning knob.
This meant that the bottom cover needed to have a hole made to allow the rotating plates to clear.

Could this have been a factory variant? It looks to have been done long ago, perhaps in the 30s when the radio was new.
It was not uncommon for Zenith to mix and match chassis to cabinets in this way. The only discrepancy is the model number was not changed.
