The Capehart 406N Adam came out just after WWII as a 1946 model.
Farnsworth took all their knowledge and knowhow of Military quality construction gained during the war and put that effort into their Capehart models.
Ive seen many refer to the amplifier used in this set as a Brooks made amp. It clearly was made with the same exact construction techniques and materials as the radio chassis, so it is clearly Farnsworth made.
I just wonder why would anyone think they were incapable of such an amplifier on their own?
I believe it is simply a ploy to extract more money out of the gullible public by making Unsubstantiated claims. Perhaps its because it looks very similar?
Sadly, my 406N is sans speaker. I suppose it is in the Far East now.
I was told to find a JBL D123 speaker as it very similar in design and performance, so that is what i have done.

The 41E changer is intact, but the headshell has been wallowed out to insert a different pickup.
The original pickup is unique in that it is a simple strain-gauge type. The gauge is so small they could insert it into a clear lucite headshell.
I do have the correct headshell from a different 41E so I may look into restoring it, or perhaps simply use a different Capehart headshell with a GE VR pickup.
